Petra Nichols

Petra joined the Penn Office of Investments in 2016. She currently focuses on sustainability initiatives and the absolute return investment program for the University’s endowment and pension plans.

Petra holds a BA from University of Pennsylvania.

What excites you most about the work you do at Penn?

I enjoy learning from and collaborating with colleagues as we explore current and potential partners’ investment theses. Every day is a chance to encounter a clever position in an obscure area, or a contrarian view on a widely-discussed investment opportunity.

What impact do you hope to make through your work at Penn?

I am motivated to find and partner with the world’s premier investment managers in order to provide current and future Penn students even more opportunities than I had as an undergraduate. Our ultimate goal is to empower Penn students, professors, researchers, health professionals, and staff by providing the resources they need for groundbreaking research, academics, advocacy groups, and much more.

What activity is at the top of your bucket list?

Travel to at least one new country every year.
